From Clutch magazine: With campaign season for Congress in full swing, there has been no shortage of public jockeying, political pandering and deviations from the partisan norm. But there is one aspect of the 2010 campaign season that dilates the pupils more than a little bit.
Thirty-five black Republicans are running for Congress, the most since Reconstruction, and the obvious causality points to the ascension of one Barack Obama. Perhaps this is the easy link, which makes this phenomenon all the more intriguing.
Vernon Parker from Arizona. Princella Smith from Arkansas. Allen West from Florida. Angela McGlowan. These are four examples of black politicians who attempt to reverse the trend of monochromatic Republicans. McGlowan, political analyst for Fox News, recently told Essence's Cynthia Gordy that the black Republican movement was inspired by Obama's win.
"Even though he may have given hope to people on the right side of the aisle, we're all black people in this," McGlowan said. "Whether you're a Democrat or Republican, the first black president has made a difference in our lives."
Should Black Republicans and Obama be uttered in the same breath? Find out @ Clutch Magazine

Wow, there is hope for these AFRICAN AMERICANS after all. Not only is there hope for them, they've proven they are worthy of my respect and are good Americans.
I call Republican blacks African Americans, whereas I call Democratic blacks NEGROES, for a reason.

Bill, who cares if you respect blacks? Also, being called a negro is not an insult although, I am sure you are equating it with"nigger."
Anyway, Bill, I don't think any "middle class American" can support Republicans as it is their pro-corporate America policy that is destroying the middle class. Corporations are not, contrary to the belief of Republicans, looking out for middle America. They will not do what's right if left unregulated.
How can African Americans align themselves with a party that is openly racist? Idiots!

Talk about BIAS. Notice the word "delusional" in the article title. This website is INTOLERANT of even blacks with opinions different than the authors. If the parties were turned around, I'm sure the authors would be complaining about RACISM. Such is black hypocrisy, at least on the part of Democratic blacks.

Worthy of your respect? You are not Christ; no one has to live up to your standard. You are also a hypocrite, you state the following. "Talk about BIAS. Notice the word "delusional" in the article title. This website is INTOLERANT of even blacks with opinions different than the authors." This quote clearly shows your hypocritical stance. On one end you consider Republican African Americans as being "African Americans," but yet you call African American democrats "Negroes," as if lower on some kind of racial hierarchy. Your standard is based on your own bias toward democrats, yet you criticize the title of this article based on it being biased? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, at least make it intelligent.

I'll stop with my heirarchy when blacks on this website stop with their's.
It will never happen. Blacks are the biggest hypocrits. They are enabled to be hypocrits by the liberal media and government.
Someday, soon, this will end and it will be a rude awakening for you. Either libertarians will be elected OR the dollar will collapse. There is no other alternative. The country cannot afford all the welfare and socialism that YOU want. There isn't enough money in the WORLD to be loaned to us to make it possible. I don't expect libertarians to be elected in time to stop the collapse of our economy into debt. It's too late already. First, the Fed will print money when borrowing from the rest of the world isn't enough. Then hyperinflation will follow. That's when all you government benefits become worthless.
I doubt you understand a word of what I just wrote.
But within 5 to 10 years, you will come to understand very very well. People like me who have converted to hard assets like gold and don't depend upon government handouts will emerge fine. YOU and the vast majority of blacks have a very dim future, regardless of who you manage to elect into office.

The future of the US economy is on display today in microcosm in Greece and Spain. Soon to be followed by Britain. Just like dominoes.
Don't think the dollar can sink to being worthless? Look at the Euro sink today. This process has just STARTED. Your god Obama has quadrupled the deficit to nearly $2 trillion from Bush's worst deficit of $400 billion. And, no, I was no fan of Bush. He was a RINO, Republican in Name Only. But at least he TRIED to reform the social security system to make it more efficient .. he was struck down by Democratic rhetoric and the majority of voters, who don't pay income taxes, would not stand for it. Just like you, they think handouts from the government are FREE and FOREVER. Wrong on both counts. Yes, you will probably get every dollar in benefits promised to you. BUT the dollar you get in 10 or 20 years will be worth pennies on the dollar versus what it's worth now.

They are not delusional they are simply irrational. The republican party does not have their best interest at heart as a race but as individuals they may be very happy in the republican party. more power to them although a black republican will never get my vote, but neither will a white republican or asian republican or hispanic republican.

One more comment: I'd rather have the country composed of REPUBLICAN African Americans than DEMOCRATIC Whites. I'd gladly get rid of Democratic Whites if they could be replaced with Republican African Americans.
How's that for "racism"?
