From Vibe: Gloria Govan might be the black sheep on VH1's 'Basketball Wives' but she couldn't care less. Her main focus is clearing up what she feels is a negative perception of women who are romantically involved with athletes.
"I hope people take away from ['Basketball Wives'] that although we are very fortunate, we're not all gold diggers and some of us are educated. It's not all glam and glitz like what's portrayed, and we do struggle," Govan tells Vibe. "Basketball wives are strong, and we try to bring something to the table."
Govan, who is scheduled to marry Matt Barnes in August, seems to be the only woman on the show in a functional relationship.

what is this girl, 21, 22? she has a lot to learn if she thinks she has the "perfect" relationship. 2 OOW kids. and her and her sister who hoed around with shaq... how can I say this mildly.... they are nothing to call home about. someone really blew their heads up somewhere down the line

They may be bitter, but you're extremely insecure in your relationship & it shows. You referred to Royce as "the enemy" because you feel she may come on to your man by being an NBA dancer-but the very women you're calling bitter are the very ones you were talking about Royce to. Girl pick a team & stay there.
You may be educated, but there's nothing envious about your life. You don't make your own money & you're at home all day with 2 kids while your man lives out his dreams & enjoys eyecandy on the road.

Ford, thanks....gotcha and I agree with u. It's just sad that we as people r still saying I got education. U know just like the light skinned thing..that's nothing to be really proud of. All that's saying is that the slave master was putting it up in their ancestors and it took real good. That's why they think they own us still. We have got to break away from these antics that r not wrking. And again look at our former mayor her in Detroit..I'm sure everone knows that, his mistress was/is an educated Delta and so is his wife. Now r the professors teaching, be educated or a slut. Once again education has nothing to do with your integrity. U either have values or not. I'm glad my father is still living and has been a part of my life, my whole life. Ladies overall sex is not a way to releive anything its should be done in a marital relationship. Other values..get somewhere. If we would all be honest. Lets try some forgiveness too. U never here about a celebrity relationship talk about forgiveness when something happens. Just I'm mad, its over. That chick on basketwives is sooooo smart, she doesn't believe she his wife already..at least u PLAYING THE ROLE...why marry later this year? U acting like one now. OK? @ Ford, and not only that, she's not married to him "Yet"....I mean if you are that educated, you should have gotten the marriage certificate first. As a matter of fact NO ONE on that show is married, well...Shanie still is, but hell she is on the road to divorce.
I would be bitter too, if I was someone's "girlfriend" for 10yrs....not bitter at the man, but bitter at myself for allowing myself to be played that long.
I am waiting on LeBron's baby momma to get a clue and leave, she was his highschool sweetheart she knew him before he was "King James"...now she is his baby momma, that's sad.

Hey!! Gloria Why didn't your husband to be marry you before the kids? And not every women out here are gold diggers, the women that are married, dating or soon to be married to a pro baller are doing something with their lives, and Please leave Royce along she is really nice I like her just stop worrying thinking she going to take your future husband either way you get child support.

Ladies, we are suppose to have each others back..but Gloria is cool! She has the certain confidence that many of them lack.All I can say is watch your back....Evelyn is a troll & needs to stop thinking what her man did, is just that & not all nba is like that...She instigates too much anyway, hope on next show that girl she is throwing water on whips her ass.......
