Source: Lawrence Taylor Didn't Have Sex With Teen

A source is telling the New York Post that the teen prostitute who allegedly got together with former NFL star Lawrence Taylor never actually had sex with him. The friend shared the information with investigators, which could help Taylor's defense against the statutory rape charges. According to the source, the young woman blurted it out when she got into the car.

"She starts explaining that it was weird because she didn't even have sex," the friend told investigators, according to the source.

"When she got back in the car, she wasn't mad or anything like that. She was like, 'Wow,' she got paid $300 and didn't have to have sex with him."

If this information turns out to be true, it could undermine any attempts to charge Taylor with third-degree rape, which carries up to four years in prison. Taylor's attorney, Arthur Aidala, had no comment.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, the teen claims that she did have sex with Taylor.

"If he's saying we didn't, that's not true," she told The News. Taylor has admitted to paying a prostitute for sex.

When it comes to the rape allegations against Lawrence Taylor, here are some key points to keep in mind:

1) Do not convict him in public. Let the courts do their job: I know we want to believe that the man who made so many mistakes in his past is also guilty of the latest allegation. But Lawrence spent years trying to become a better man and it wouldn't make sense for us to throw the book at him until this is all said and done. Statutory rape is a serious charge and even the mere accusation can cause a man to lose his livelihood. Taylor has already been shamed in public and lost his endorsement deal with Nutrisystems. Let's at least make sure the allegations are true before we pass judgement. If he hired a prostitute or cheated on his wife, that's a bad thing. But that's not worth him going to prison.

2) The experience could turn out to be a serious cautionary tale for all men who spend time with prostitutes: During the past two weeks, I've received an unbelievable education about young women who use date rape drugs and fake IDs to convince men that they are older than they actually are so they can frame them and extort money. They tend to target athletes and high-profile individuals who would be embarrassed or harmed by an unfortunate accusation. I am not here to say that this is what happened to Lawrence Taylor, but the rabbit hole may go far deeper than any of us can imagine. If we are going to presume that Taylor may be guilty, we must at least give some credibility to the possibility that he didn't do as much as some are saying that he may have done. If he was presented with a fake ID, convincing him that the girl was over the age of 18, in my book, it's difficult to argue that he should be prosecuted for statutory rape.

I am not here to defend Taylor or anyone else, but at this point, the information is so conflicted that darn near anything is possible. I wouldn't judge Lawrence Taylor or the alleged victim until all the evidence has been presented. I have a feeling that we're going to learn a lot more about this incident before it's out of the media.
