From Politic 365: The announcement of Elena Kagan could not really be called a surprise, since the White House went out of its way to all but announce her as their pick over the last week. The Obama Administration dropped hints by the dozens to their favored reporters, who dutifully shared their information with the rest of us. I had come to accept it as a done deal, even though I had been a little perturbed at the way the D.C. pundits only mentioned three or four names from the president's short list, as if the rest of the names on it, like Georgia's own Leah Ward Sears, were invisible.
It wasn't until I called a friend of mine, an African American lawyer here in Atlanta who had been a diehard Hillary supporter and then a reluctant Barack Obama supporter after he became the Democratic nominee, that I realized that others felt the same way. "First he puts a Hispanic woman on the court. Fine. He's paying back the Hispanics for their support," she said. "Then he puts a white woman on the court. Okay – he's paying them back for coming over to his side after Hillary lost. I see that.
But why do I have to be last? Why do black women always have to be last? I don't think he cares."

Simple, Barack Obama is a PUNK!
There were two or more Black female jurists (whose qualifications, I sure surpassed Ms. Kagan's)that he could have nominated. But he did not have the intestinal fortitude to do it!

He has selected many Black people in key roles in his administration. He will appoint more. Give him a chance, please. Everybody wants everything thing done in 3 seconds. That being said, I hope in the future he appoints another Black judge to the Supreme Court.

Remember Clarence Thomas is black and he means nothing to the black community as far as judical support. Just becasue she is not black does not mean she will not support us judically. Second Justice Sotomayor is Puerto Rican which is African/Spanish. I realized that some of you will complain no matter what the President does, but he is there for 2 more years so get with the program or get out the way!!!

Some may not like this, but of the so-called Black folks who have been appointed by Barack H. Obama, none has a background with a historically Black college. Is that important? I leave you to wonder why an indonesian Islamic seemingly has pull the wool over some eyes.

There are more monorities in this country besides black people, and they want to see themselves in key and visible positions as well. And, we are hardly "last" in what Pre. Obama does. We are just not "only" like many of us expected to be. Many of us expected to take control of America and run things once a black president was seated. That was a delusion from the start. He has to be diplomatic in everything he does if he wants that seat again to really finish what he has started. Politics is tricky. You can't please everybody but you must please everybody! He needs prayer and encouragement not criticism. To the Hillary supporters who reluctantly supported Obama: You still would be in the same position you are in right now watching the world play out as God has ordained it to be. If you want and need big, real and urgent change, look to Heaven not the White House.

I am an African American woman in the legal profession. I don't have a problem with Elena Kagan. Black women are well represented in the Obama administration. Have these women who are complaining forgotten this quickly. We have a black woman surgeon general, the woman in charge of EPA is black, Susan Rice, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. is black, and there are others. Black people, particularly the ones who supported Hillary need to stop all of the whining and read and pay attention. They're supposed to be the smart ones yet they're pretty stupid.

This is arguably the worst argument I have ever heard. Why do black women have to be last? Really? Qualifications, experience etc be damned Obama needs to pay back black women. As a woman you should be happy that he has nominated 2 women to the court but no that's not enough, it has to be a black woman? The end game in my mind has always been an America where race is no longer a factor neither positive nor negative, it's time we move past these racist attitudes. And yes I do find this article to be patently racist, if a white man had written this article whining about how the white man is getting the shaft we call him racist or Glenn beck. The article is embarrassing.

If elena is confirmed, that means that a third of the supreme court justice will be jewish, yet jews are a very tiny percentage of the population. The question is, what type of Black person do not desire to see another Black person appointed to the supreme court? And why wouldn't they want to see another Black person appointed?

She ain't White, she's Jewish. That makes the Supreme Court 33% Jewish, even though Jews represent only about 2% of the population.
