While President-Elect Obama is emerging as an icon of accomplishment and cool, his sunglasses have been making a stir as a fashion accessory for men. Some have called the sunglasses "elitist," others think they make him look "hot."

The first time I saw Barack wearing them, I was a bit shocked. They definitely lend another edge to the famous Obama swag. But, are they a bit too casual?
-What is the verdict on cool shades for men?
-Do sunglasses increase or decrease President-Elect Obama's power quotient?

Love it! President and First Lady Obama should do him and her while maintaining the integrity of the office. They should not allow the office to steal their identity, nor should they allow people with no life of their own to dictate every move they make in their personal life that has no bearing on the office. These type of questions or comments were never raised with any other president. So, don't start this racial profiling now.

Look, I think that our new President don't need nobody telling him how to dress. He does a fine job on his own and the sun shades look great on him. There are a lot of people who could learn a thing or two because all of the Obama's have STYLE.

If the president-elect chooses to wear sunglasses, why is it an issue. He should maintain his individuality. I am certain that he will use good judgement in how he presents himself in public. Why does the media have to make every detail an issue?

I think President-Elect Obama looks great in sunglasses, gives him a chic and serious look at the same time.

Does it matter if he wears shades? He's our president elect but he's also a normal person. He looks great by the way! ( smiles )

Although I like the glasses, the man has the most expressive eyes I have seen in a long time. He doesn't need them to garner approval in my book. As far as setting a trend goes, there are worse things than sunglasses out there. Protecting your eyes against the sun isn't a bad thing to do.

The sunglasses are fine outdoors. Have always been a sunglass person myself because eyes need shading from so much so bright light. The whole family looks great and we should all be very proud of them. They will be the nation's first family, and we should all strive to conduct ourselves as well as they do.

Obama is just doing what any other intelligent person would do in the bright light of day--protecting his eyes from the sun's glare. Why this would constitute an issue is not even worth discussing. It's not even about individuality; it's just him using good common sense and watching out for his eyesight.
