Black blogger Claire over at The Fashion Bomb has done a great job of describing a new look for men of fashion in the spotlight. She calls it "Pee Wee Herman meets Malcolm X." I have coined a new phrase for it: The Neo-Nerd.
Part preppy, part Hollywood, part Wall Street swag, with a touch of nerd, hotties like Common, Pharrell and David Banner are rocking this clean-cut look to perfection. Kanye West may be taking the nerd aspect a little too far, but how far a man takes this look is up to his particular level of fashion courage.

I think it's good to show different looks but this one to me seems like a look that softens the demeanor of the Black man. We are often looked at as intimidating in many regards, so we try to look quirky like this to get a more receptive response from Whites. Example, if Fifty Cent worked in an office environment, there would be an uproar with this brother with massive physique and strong eyes but if Erkel came through the doors, he would be more accepted. Sorry but it's my opinion

that is so true jim,i work in the fashion industry
here in new york and i have seen black men come in to
interview with an very strong urban look and naver get the high paying positions maybe the stock or mail rooms.but the bro in the stylish suite tie some time hat get the 2ed interview or the job.

I love the idea, coming from a black man that wear tailor suits,Tux for the hell of it,to me, men wear suits, boys dress in a t-shirt and jeans everyday.
