When it rains, it pours.

First thing first. 'Miss Rap Supreme' is over.

Rece Steel from The BX took home the $100,000. She was going up against Byata from Brooklyn. Rece was just a b-girl, raw and ready to get down and battle on a street corner.

Byata had the mainstream commercial appeal. Some people thought that Byata should have won because she was more marketable. And others felt that Rece needed the 100 grand more.

For me. I think that the person who was supposed to win, won. You can catch the rerun marathons on VH1.

A lot has been going on over the past week which has made blogging almost impossible.


One reason is the senseless crimes happening in Los Angeles. My head is hung low. Children of two close friends of mine were killed by other kids. What is happening to our youth? And where are the parents of these young killers?

I'm not sure if I mentioned that I have two children myself. Both are making big transitions as this school year ends. Sinai, 4, graduated last week from preschool and is headed for kindergarten. And today, Tiffany, 13, is walking across the junior high school stage. I can't believe that Tiff will be in high school. Wow. I've been a superwoman this last week.

Last, but definitely not least, let's talk about these Lakers and the Boston Celtics.

Being from L.A. of course I partied, I hosted and I drank on about 4 of the pounds I just lost. I lost it all for nothing because the Lakers lost. However, I am proud of my team. I am also proud of Inglewood repping Paul Pierce of the Celtics.
