I don't think I've been this excited about a forthcoming book from a celebrity in awhile.
Prince, Mr. Purple Rain himself, will be dropping a book slated for Fall 2008, called 21 Nights.
Described as a "photographic essay collection," that will offer a "rare glimpse into the life, lyrics, and mystique" of Prince, the book stems from the 21-night show the iconic artist performed at the O2 Arena in London in 2007.
21 Nights will include poetry, song lyrics, pictures from the performance, and an exclusive CD entitled, Indigo Nights. The book, which is a first for the artist, will be published by Atria, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
This book will definitely grace my coffee table.
But honestly, I wish he was coming out with an autobiography. Could you imagine the glitz, glamor, and drama?

I realize what a busy man he still is but when I think of Prince today, I think about how off-the-chain he was in the 80's and 90's! He recorded some of the baddest music that was ever heard. Youngsters today just don't know...he may be small in stature but he was always a powerhouse when it came to music...rump-shaking, 'James Brown' splitting, high-heeled, butt-out-pants, jammin' machine! I'm sure his book '21 Nights' captured, as much as it could, the excitement of his concerts...he gives all he has.
Of course, now in 2008, he's looking at becoming 50 soon and internet news has stated that he's also looking at having hip surgery this year. Where has the time gone?

Described as a "photographic essay collection," that will offer a "rare glimpse into the life, lyrics, and mystique" of Prince....how many years later is he copying Madonna when she brought out her intelligent book....which was also a photographic 'essay' collection. Why can't celebs simply call their books by their true name: Comics....

I was stationed in Japan with the military in the eighties. This cat comes up to me and asks if I wanted to go to a Prince concert. Not being a big Prince fan I was a little reluctant, however I went anyways. Talking about one of the best performances I have seen in my life. Little dude and that band put on one helluva show. Prince you are truly the man!!!!!
