Pharrell is pictured here with Japanese designer Nigo, at the flagship store opening for his clothing brands Ice Cream and Billionaire Boys Club. Trying to cash in on the same trippy Japanese style as Gwen Stefani, Pharrell is using his star power to extend what was first a creative sneaker endorsement into two popsicle-colored-street-chic clothing lines, and seems to be doing it well. By also repping for HP Computers in a television ad this year, Pharrell's two endorsements and international appeal puts him at number 9.

hmmmmm. i wonder how many japanese businessmen hire african-americans to design clothes or design anything for their businesses? couldn't pharrell pay a brother to design clothes? i ask because i think there are far fewer chances for a african-american to get that kind of an oppurtunity. and lets face it, a lot of what becomes popular in pop culture starts in the african american community. we have the creativity. but how many in the african-american community get to reap the financial benifits? i'm not haten on my asian brothers and sisters. clearly they know how to get in the game, stay in it, and get paid. african-americans could take a lesson. but i believe that part of their (asian) success is their loyalty to each other. ASIANS SUPPORT EACH OTHER ECONOMICALLY FISRT! everybody else comes after that. black folk got a long way to go there. happy new year and good luck pharrell!:)

Get a grip and stop hate'n. I'm sure there are blacks working in high level positions within his company. The man is trying to reach globally and if that means he makes $$$ by attaching an Asian face to his brand, don't hate.
While you may have a valid point in where popularity starts, it's other countries that spend more dollar for dollar on many products that originate in our community. With that thought in mind maybe he was thinking from a financial point of view rather than a racial "help a brother out" point of view.
