There is a group of full and fabulous women in Detroit who are upset at a former full (but not so fabulous) Star Jones. Full & Fabulous, a non-profit organization that helps plus-size women and girls cope with peer pressures, is upset at Star Jones after they invited Star to speak at their "Health, Beauty and Self-Esteem Expo" during the 2006 Super Bowl in Detroit.
Jones reportedly didn't show up to the gig - - which normally wouldn't be newsworthy.
However, according to TMZ.com, Jones demanded first class airfare, a suite at a five-star hotel and $30,000 to show up.
This story was first reported by Detroit news anchor Steve Wilson of WXYZ, who caught Jones on tape squirming before shooing Wilson and his staff out of her office.
For some reason, I'm not surprised to see Jones demanding that type of treatment.
Can we say diva?
As a former full girl, you would think she wouldn't treat her thick sistas like that.
TMZ.com has landed some of the e-mails and documents surrounding the speaking agreement and Full & Fabulous won a $20,000 default judgment against Jones.
The organization can't afford an attorney to collect the money so they are throwing a bowling party to help raise funds so they can collect on the judgment .
Star Jones' rep issued a statement to TMZ.com:
"It is unfortunate that Mr. Wilson and this for-profit Expo has chosen to so gravely distort the facts surrounding this speaking engagement for their benefit. Ms. Jones' lecture agency William Morris was contacted on April 18, 2005 to have her speak at an Expo on February 4, 2006 for $25,000. Per the accepted terms of the deal a deposit was to be issued by the organizers on July 4, 2005 with the balance being submitted 48 hours prior to the scheduled travel date."
"However, the balance was never provided and after countless attempts to save the date; the William Morris Agency had no other choice but to cancel the date and advise the booking agency that they were in breach of contract. At no time did Ms. Jones receive or accept $30,000 as stated by Mr. Wilson and had no direct contact with this for-profit Expo. The real shame is that, Ms. Jones honored all contractual terms of the deal but this organization did not and have now fabricated a story to make a name for themselves on hers."
Editor's Note: Star Jones is on the defensive, addressing the allegations during the end of her Court TV show on Monday.
Instead of addressing the topic on-air, Jones told viewers to head to her website (Can we say page views?) in order to get her side of the story.

They shouldn't have invited Mo'Nique she would have been glad to participate, and she would have been the best person for the job. She has no hang ups with her weight or self-esteem problems. Star had to loose weight for her health. She wouldn't have been a good spokes person for the job...

"Mr Wilson" didn't say Jones received $30,000 - she got $16,000 (but "has no record" of $6000 of it).
She then used the organization's debit card without permission to change her first class airline reservations to a flight leaving an hour later, which cost them an additional $800.
Who paid for the 3 night stay in the 5 star hotel? It sure as hell wasn't Freebie Jones.

What kind of lame people look as this b!tch as a role model?
Fat b!tch sold off her wedding for profit (plus she married a bone-smoking male) and used to weigh like 800 pounds.
It's too bad her weight-reduction didn't end like it should have -- then we could have put an apple in this b!tches mouth and roasted her over a spit like she so much deserves. (20 minutes per pound, sh!t we'll be here for three months!)

C'mon Star! Pay up! You always talk about the Lord, and doing the right thing. Make this right. Give an apology at least. The group even won a judgement against you - and you won't even pay that! You didn't even show up for the court appearance. Roll model?? Don't do this, Star! How many days and how much bad publicity is it going to take?

It's a crying shame that Star Jones would treat young girls in such a way. It doesn't matter if the girls only raised $100.00 If she didn't want to do the gig. Just be up front and tell the girls that the deal was off. Taking money from an non-profit organization designed to help young women with weight issues... that's cold-hearted.
Dang, how can Star be so very cruel? Sure the girls didn't raise enough money--but is money the real issue in this case? Sure I can see wanting to get paid for a speaking engagement, but this wasn't a bunch of affluent people at bourgeois affair. These are her fans! Doesn't she feel an obligation to support those who support her and look up to her as role-model. Could it be that Mrs. Jones is still on rung one of Dr. Mazlow's pyramid? With much success, far and way more resources than even the upper middle-class experience, I would have thought that Star would be working on self-actualization instead of first class airfare paid for by the sweat and tears of little girls.

I am sure we do not know the full story on this, and if they knew Star charged to go to the event, then they should be able to afford her before they book her. Also I would not believe TMZ. They are just after money for gossip concerning other people. Gossip is usually lies. Maybe Star does not believe the court settlement was justified. After all if she is wrong, if she does not pay up here, she will at judgement time in heaven. People who are greedy and wrong definately reap what they sew.
