Fans of 'The Wire' have been wondering when Season 4 of the HBO drama would be released on DVD...We finally have a date - December 4.
That gives you a little over a month to catch up on the best season of 'The Wire' before the fifth and final season starts on HBO on January 6.
From HBO.com:
With the fall of Barksdale and the ascent of young Marlo Stanfield as West Baltimore's drug king, the detail continues to "follow the money" up the political ladder in the midst of a mayoral election that pits the black incumbent, Clarence Royce, against an ambitious white councilman, Tommy Carcetti.
The theme of urban education is explored through four new characters: Michael Lee, Namond Brice, Randy Wagstaff, and "Dukie" Weems as they traverse adolescence in the stunted, drug-saturated streets of West Baltimore. The world that awaits these boys and the American commitment to equal opportunity are depicted brilliantly in the edgy, all-too-realistic season 4 of The Wire.

I have been addicted to The Wire from its inception. I cannot wait until the new season starts! I'm a little upset that it's gonna be the last season but it's been a great ride since the show has been on the air! Can't wait until I can get Season 4 in my hands!

This is Real for those who dont know. I have worked in Baltimore and lived just outside of it. This show is an eye opener and is the best thing since the Sopranos. NO B.S.

The actors are so good, when you see them in other parts you do a double take.

As a law enforcement official who worked narcotics and vice in an urban inviornment, I can relate personally to the characters in this crime drama series. My all time favorite show. Hands down.

This has been a long time coming. With the way season 4 ended it's hard to believe that you will be able to end it with just one more (season). I can put seasons 1-3 in my changer and watch it like its the first time i'm watching this show. I commend you for all the show brings to light. Keep me glued to the TV!!!!

I am excited for the 5th season to begin. I am not happy that it will be the last. The crazy thing is that I know someone like most of the people in the show, on both sides of the law. I am just so not happy that this is going to be the last season.

I agree with you hottie, the show isn't the same without Stringerbell, but it has been a must see. In that game every player has there time and it was his.
