Is Erykah reading this blog? I wouldn't flatter myself to think such a thing, but it would explain why Badu dumped the bed head and opted for this 70s 'do.
I think I miss the bed head.
When I first blogged about Erykah's bad 'do most ran to her rescue but even the most passionate fans had to question her eccentric style. CaramelDiamonds was frank and pulled no punches. She asked, "What in the world possessed her ... to throw the hair of a horse's a** on her head and walk out on stage like that?" It didn't stop there. As I made my way through nearly five pages of comments I realized I wasn't the only one baffled by Badu.
Because Badu seems to be her own best PR agent, she's giving us something else to talk about. Neo-soul's reigning queen must have been inspired by Mary J. Blige's VMA hairstyle because she's now sporting what I call the 'bowl cut.' In other words, slapping a mixing bowl over your head and cutting off the exposed ends. In Erykah's case, she must have slept in some sponge rollers before she hit the stage. I recognize that tight curl, girl.
Now, what do you think? Is it an improvement? Now, before you jump into the comments section with your vote let's not forget with people like Lauryn Hill running around miseducated in her hair and fashion choices, Erykah's looking as conservative as Ms. Condoleezza Rice, herself. Now, have at it.

Please forgive me if I'm wrong..... but I do believe that she has some medical issues.... Now I'm not using it as a scape goat for her, but maybe, just maybe!! this is just her way of re-adjusting her self with her self, perhaps she is trying to re-educate herself on who she is too herself!!! Lets face, it most everyone who had or has medical issues (myself included) usually went through some sort of life change!!... a re-structuring if you will, both mentally, emotionally and physically. We all love her, but what she need righf now is our understanding and our respect, not based on what she records or the money she may or may not have, but rather just for the person she is, would we expect any less for our self... from others...!!!

Your spirit is often seen before you are--meaning her hair is not even a factor--and yes she can do what she wants to her hair, its hers! Not to get too deep,it is clear that she is searching for something-- maybe her identity!!!
