With the 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, one show that is noticeably missing from the list of nominations is HBO's 'The Wire.' The critically acclaimed drama that takes a realistic portrayal of urban life in Baltimore. The show is coming off its fourth and arguably best season, as the show focused mostly on the examination of the Baltimore school system.
Yet, according to the academy, 'Grey's Anatomy,' a sexed up hospital drama was more worthy of an Emmy nomination than 'The Wire.'
Everybody Hates Marcus has come up with the Top 11 Reasons Why 'The Wire' should win for Best Series Drama at the Emmy Awards on Sept. 16.

Why is the show not back on; I read somewhere that HBO was running it for another season. Funny, they are showing "Big Love"! Can't relate to that...and people talk about Black men who have many women...hmmmm.

Please put the Wire back on. I love grey's anatomy, but the Wire was so compelling, so real....Put the damn show back on...even if it is the final season. I could relate to all of the characters.

Maybe the reality of this show, thanks to excellent scripts and acting,is just too much for the executives who make the decisions. Grey's Anatomy can take you away from reality... for a minute. Bring back The Wire. Don't be afraid of this up in your face look at what is going on in Baltimore and other cities across this country.

The Wire is the Best Drama Show on television today. Its realistic portrayal of the urban life in Baltimore comes to life before your very eyes. The heated, intense drama illustrates a city of corruption, violence and divine intervention, which people from all walks of life can relate too, that goes beyond the Great USA, but throughout this wicked world we live in. Despite of all the negativity in Baltimore, love, hope and determination still dwindles through the hearts of many.
Grey's Anatomy is a very good drama show, but The Wire is superior and unparalleled.

The Wire is the most compelling show on TV. It had my attention every week. I cannot think of a show more deserving of an Emmy. Every character is so real. I hear it is only on for one last season and that's a shame.
