As they say, where there are winners there are losers (click here to see the winners). I know I may rub some fans the wrong way but this is not about music – it's about hair and my girl Mary left me a little disappointed when I saw how she stepped out of the house. Mary always gets love just for being Mary but my love affair was almost over tonight. This pageboy-inspired hair cut looks like someone placed a bowl over Blige's head and just started trimming away. Short and simple is lovely but the cut is a complete distraction from an otherwise beautiful woman. Mary, my feelings are hurt.
Lastly, I have to add Kanye West's Well, I'm happy that's all over. That was tough. I certainly could never be a correspondent on the red carpet. I hate being a critic. I like to leave that job up to Marcus or members in the Entertainment forum. Drop off a comment on who made your winner and loser list and be sure to check out the honorable mention list (link below).
Now let's move on to another brunette-turned blond. Nelly Furtado. I guess someone finally told her that the formula to success is in a bottle of peroxide. Why else would she follow the ranks of artists such as Christina Milian, JLo, Beyonce and countless others who have gone blond (in addition to dropping ten pounds)? Instead of remaining true to her roots so-to-speak and standing out she opted for what you see to the left. Nelly added about ten years to her look thanks to these lighter, brighter tresses. Booooooo.lifetime fiancé, Alexis, to the hit list. Judging by the look on Kanye's face he's awfully proud to have her on his shoulder (or maybe he's hyped over the best album-selling publicity stunt record companies have ever seen). Whatever the case, I blame him for allowing his woman to step out like this. For someone who enjoys etching designer logos into his head I'm shocked he didn't have a hairstylist
on board for his lady. If Alexis was headed to the boardroom to lead an important meeting on getting her company out of the red this look would have worked, but this is the VMAs and while a ring is great you're not married yet. Step ... up ... your ... game. She should have turned her flat iron off for the evening and instead picked up a curling iron – or perhaps taken tips from Beyonce or Alicia's stylists.

I admit Mary's hair wasn't the best. But you have to give her credit, maybe she just doesn't want to expose herself to all those chemicals while she is pregnant. Maybe she did what other celeb mom-to-be's don't do, put her unborn childs help first.
Oh, and agree with you on the Nelly Furtado tip.

I totally agree with you on the hair thing. I totally disagree with shorty above making excuses for Mary's hair. Mary has worn some JACKED UP hair doos in the past and she wasn't pregnant back then! Anyway...check me out at http://myspace.com/thesandmanno1

Personally, as a woman of African descent, I am sick of seeing fake blonde, weaved Black women who cannot seem to love their hair the way God grows it out of their head. What are we saying to the world, to our children about our unique beauty?

Marcus, I was said that you were HOMOSEXUAL,now I am convinced. I think no matter whatever Mary J.Blige wears she is always fly. Its
funny how you referred to that piece in Rihannas hair as
at first looking like a skunk. I think you were dead on
when you made that statement, you just changed your mind
about her because you are partial to light skinned people. Remember you have been accused of being partial
to light skinned blacks over darks skinned blacks....
HYPOCRITE.

Why the hell is it that people think a person has to consider what anyone approves or disapproves of in their choice of style???? I wear hairdo's that I like! I don't give a DAYUM about whether someone else like it or not!!! We are individuals and that's what makes us unique!!! MJB can wear whatever she pleases and so can anyone else!!! So Stfu!!!!!!!

Miss CeCe, you are right about Coily, He is blind. I think Mary was fly, she always is. She wears, all hair colors, an all hair styles, she's got it like that. She's always sharp! I personally would like her to do, black or brown hair, but she's an entertainer, they do it like that. As far as the Rihanna, her hair look jack-up.

I personally thought all of the celeberties hair was just fine. I don't know what you are looking for, but I didn't see any tragic hairdos

okay what the flying fuck.
seriously, 'not impressed', MJB is an amazing singer, no doubt. i'd like to see you get on stage, or anywhere at that, and perform even half as well as she does.
second, rihanna is gorgeous, but her hair just isn't. it made her look terrible in the Umbrella video. in the Shutup & Drive video, the only time she looked good with the hair is when she was wearing the black shorts & she had her makeup done all cute. other than that, she is too pretty to be trying to rock a bobbed hairstyle.
still love her though.
