Radio host Reuben Armstrong is causing quite a controversy with the announcement of his forthcoming book called SNAKES IN THE PULPIT (which was supposed to be released in August but is now slated for a Sept. 18th release). In it, Armstrong is supposed to be exposing the deceptive practices of church men such as Bishop Eddie Long, Pastor Creflo Dollar, Pastor Joel Osteen and Bishop TD Jakes.
Here's a little about the book from Armstrong's website:
The number of megachurches featured on National TV and radio have spawned a new type of celebrity: megapastors. These men have risen in stature and gained the public's trust as irreproachable men of God as their churches have attracted hundreds of thousands of members and millions of viewers and listeners.
But are these men, their methods and intentions really beyond reproach? One man says no, and he's set to be the voice of doubt crying out into the wilderness of what he believes to be blind faith.
"I want to expose the deception and the lies that are going on right now when it comes to these megachurches and their pastors," Armstrong said. "I'm a Christian, and I don't want people thinking I'm against God or anything like that. I believe in the church, but I don't believe in people saying one thing and doing another."
Also on his website, Armstrong, who hosts a live radio show called The Reuben Armstrong Gospel Show, says that he was recently threatened by parishioners of the World Changers Church International located in College Park, Georgia headed by Rev. Dr. Creflo Dollar. He was apparently urged not to publish the book. And, EURweb.com reported that Armstrong had been banned from StreamingFaith.com, a portal that was broadcasting his radio show online. He told EUR Gospel, "Yes, it was because of the enemies (Bishop T.D. Jakes, Eddie Long and Creflo Dollar). I received a call from the vice president of Streaming Faith. He told me those guys had called him asking that he remove me or they will no longer do business so he made the decision to remove me. But God is not sleep. This is an example of what these so-called men of God will do to protect themselves."
Armstrong says the book will discuss certain high profile pastors, but he really doesn't say how. Is the book journalistic/investigative, pure opinion? Not sure.
What do you think? Is Armstrong doing a service for churchgoers or is he being opportunistic?
Check out the second video below. He also comments on Juanita Bynum, whom he refers to as a pimptress.

Funny thing is, it's hard to believe that a man who calls himself a christian would invest so much effort in attempting to show a negative light on others who society recognizes as people of God. If he was truly a "WWJD" type of brother he'd encourage others to pray for these leaders instead of bad-mouthing them. He handled this the way someone in the world would - and not like someone in the church.

He's not a Christian. The bible clearly says that Christians are supposed to correct each other in "love" when they see another doing wrong. If he claims to know of their misdeeds then he and other church members are supposed to handle the matter discreetly so that a person is NOT humiliated. Its kind of hard for me to take this guy seriously because his approach to the whole situation. Where in the bible does it read: Get rich while dragging your sisters and brothers in Christ through the mud???

Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Why is a book necessary? Where are the proceeds going? How much $$$$ is being gained to smear the names of your brothers and sisters? You are your brothers Keeper!

T.D. Jakes is a motivational speaker/snake oil salesman at best. I've watched his show many times, and there is very little teaching (if any) from the Bible. Having said that, if people like him, and what he offers so be it.

It's about time someone told the TRUTH!!!! Stop putting your faith in these MEN & WOMEN and put your faith where it belongs, in GOD. You don't need someone else telling you how to believe, how to worship and how to spend your money. Pick up the bible and read it yourselves. Find your OWN answers. It's like the BLIND leading the BLIND.

Who TOLD you they were men of GOD? Just because they suddenly appear on TV and proclaim themselves men of GOD doesn't mean it's true. People better start waking up to the truth.
