Danny DeVito will be the first guest during the season premiere of 'The View' on Sept. 4. The ABC daytime talk show, which is entering its 11th season, will have the actor on for the first time since his last appearance on the show where DeVito was allegedly drunk after spending the night out with fellow actor George Clooney.
'The View's' premiere week will also include appearances by Larry David, Clive Owen, Tim Gunn, Rachael Ray and Regis Philbin.
DeVito appeared on 'The View' on Nov. 29, 2006, and was on to promote his movie 'Deck The Halls.'
"I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that was going to get me," DeVito said on "The View."The first episode also means the start of the Whoopi Goldberg era on 'The View' as the show's moderator.
Also back are Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and a pregnant Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
As for the fifth seat of 'The View,' which was rumored to be going to Sherri Shepherd, it still remains unfilled at the time.
Shepherd was allegedly demanding $2 million a year - - the same price that Goldberg is reportedly making for moderating the show.

Sherri is funny, I'd like to see her on the show. She can ask for, but not expect the same as Whoopi. How many awards has Sherri won?

When Sherri said that she uses "Nigger" as a word of endearment that was it for me.
Any person who says that they use the word “Nigger” as a term of endearment has to be hanging on a fish hook to the brain!
I would hate to see how she/Sherri uses the word bitch.
nig·ger
nig·ger [níggər](plural nig·gers)
n (taboo)
1. a taboo term for a black person
2. a taboo term for a dark-skinned person
[Late 17th century. Via Spanish Negro from Latin Niger “black.”]
Sensitivity:
This term is arguably the single most offensive racist slur in the English language. The fact that African Americans and other people of color sometimes use this word in reference to themselves does not excuse its present-day use by members of other ethnic groups. Those who persist in using it should remember that their use of the word reflects directly upon them, the users. The terms of choice are African American,

i love the view and i hope sherri takes the last spot. she is hilarious. I personally would have liked to see Ricki Lake as well. She is not gay but gay friendly and I think it would have been good to represent everyone.

I hope that the people talking about Whoopi are not African-Americans. It is so sad to hear us insult each other and then we wonder why these women mainly associate with people from other groups. The same thing happened to Oprah. Alot of us do this type of bashing that was done to us in slavery times and over the years. It seems that we love to attack each other verbally and slash each other's self esteem no matter what we do. Then we want to cry racism when we can't get what we want from the Powers That Be.
Is it jealousy or plain ignorance that makes us act this way?
We need to curb what comes out of our mouths. Words like UGLY, UNATTRACTIVE, TOO DARK, SHE NEEDS A PERM are starting to come from african americans and their children more than other groups. I thought that SPIKE LEE'S SCHOOL DAZE was a thing of the past.
WORDS CAN HURT!! EVEN CELEBRITIES. THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS WITH FEELINGS WHO JUST HAPPEN TO EARN A LOT MORE MONEY THAN WE DO.
An inteeligent person would focus on Whoopi's spiritual and intellectual contribution, not if she needs to go to the nearest hair salon or Mac counter.
Assessing someone as if they were your girlfriend (on her looks) is ridiculous. She has enough credentials to get whatever she wants, makeover or not.
What are you doing with your life?
Please stop it before it comes back on you or your loved ones.
Karma is not to be messed with.

To number 7 & 8 Thank you again and again. I am so tire of us, Blacks, bashing each other. Let's try bettering ourselves so that one day we or our childen (grand children) may be able to obtain one of these jobs. Why are we so hateful to each other? I can't imagine that in 2007, we still treat each other with such disrespect. And you wonder why other races of people disrespect us.
