The biggest news was the departure of Aaron, the love interest who finally proposed to Joan in the final episode of
last season. Richard T. Jones is leaving the show for a new show on Fox called ''The Sarah Connor Chronicles.'What am I going to do with that? We're gonna work with that in a beautiful way. I'm excited about it to go on the journey yet again with Joan," Brock revealed to the BV Buzz.
"Who's to say I'm getting rid of [the] Richard T. Jones [character]? Don't underestimate me!"
Personally, I think they should just write out Aaron's character in the first episode instead of bringing in a new actor to play the role of 'Aaron.'Too many casual viewers will tune in and be confused when they see another actor all of a sudden engaged to Joan.
'Girlfriends' returns to the CW on Monday, Oct. 1.
In the meantime, vote on who you think should be Joan's new love interest.

Just take it off the air. When the character that played Toni left, so did the interesting story lines and my interest!

They should make it really interesting and pair Joan up with someone w/a real cool demeanor like Richard T. Jones - the coolest one yet...she doesn't need to be matched up w/a corny dude like Brock or William - I'd try Anthony Mackie or Darrin Henson...can't lose.

OMG. i thing im gonna fall right outta my chair. first of all, Richard T Jones is a sexy black man, the finest Joan has ever had and now he's gone. 1st Toni, now him. Joan is gonna be bouncin off the padded walls. I know i would!!! thats messed up but im glad my favorite show is comin back for another season

I love girlfriend and every week my girlfriends and I have dinner and watch the show. I hope it never gets cut. That's what happens to all black show, as soon as it get good it gets cut. How can we keep it on? I think Darrin Henson would make a good replacement,or the character could get killed in a car accident or injured so that he dont have a memory of joan or loving her. Thats a couple of ways to go. I personally am happy for joan and would like to see her get married and have a baby..
