Since inviting America into his home through his MTV reality show Run's House, Rev Run has become a new father figure. As a result, according to the hip-hop website SOHH.com, he and wife Justine Simmons have recently signed a book deal with Gotham Books to offer tips for "successful parenting and maintaining a productive family."And apparently the entire family, including the kids are going on a "mobile, multimedia, US book tour" to promote the book when it's released in 2008.
But the big news here is that the family received more than $1 million dollars for the deal. Whoa. That's a lot of dough for a parenting book. Are people really going to buy it like that? Not sure. We'll see.
Brother Russell's recent book DO YOU! was also published by Gotham. And I'm sure he got a phat advance as well. That publishing imprint has some deep pockets.
This is a book-writing family. Rev. Run previously published a collection of words of wisdom and a memoir. His wife Justine recently released a children's book.
I guess it's the kids' turn to pen one. Angela? JoJo?

I wouldn't take advice from him. I watch his show every now and then and the way the family talks to one another is weird to me. Anywy, he has pretty good kids I give him that but not good enough for him to think about giving me parenting advice. I remember one episode where they gave one of the younger boys money to buy clothes and he bought a wi game console. He played his parents and instead of Run grounding him he went in the boys room and played with him. How much money did they give the 10 or 11 year old? Way to much!!!! You don't give kids that age that much money. Any sane parent knows that and he did what a typical kid would do. So no thank you "Rev" Run. This is one person that won't buy your book.

Rev Run does have great kids(thats what we see) and he and Justine are doing a good job at raising their kids, don't knock him for doing what some black men are to afraid or just dont care to do. Don't forget they live like normal people but they are not the average family he has hustled to get what he has. Yes I would purchase his book. Most people strive for success, i would buy a book that promotes successful parenting or/and a productive family.

It should be easy to write a book on successful parenting and maintaining a productive family when your rich and can't remember the last time you thought about a utility bill. However, I am proud on Rev and his family and I hope this book was written from a realistic, down to earth perspective.

I LOVE THE SIMMONSES - continued BLESSINGS!
PEACE
PS I love the way the Reverend advised his son re the $ 500,000 Rolls Royce:
Important message: NEVER not be yourself to appease others or make them comfortable with your wealth & good fortune - if they do not appreciate you 4 you , then F*** em!
