Considering the source is Star Magazine, you can take this tidbit of info and make your own conclusions from it.
But Goldberg on 'The View' would be a great choice for that show.
It would fill the void of a strong black woman that they never replaced when Star Jones Reynolds flashed the deuces and left abruptly last year.
Plus, Whoopi would keep the conservative Elizabeth Hasselbeck in check as we inch closer to the '08 elections.
Nothing has been officially announced," the insider tells Star. "But it is 99 percent Whoopi at this point. They will have a few guest hosts throughout the summer but the executives and producers at The View are set on Ms. Goldberg to start in the fall."

This should be interesting. I don't think joy like's Whoopi that impression I got when Whoopi was on the show.

Wow, now i would watch when Whoopi's on. I watched when Rosie was on and kept up with her "spats" with Elizabeth. Whoopi don't play and she is an icon and it's about time. She's witty, she's in tune and she's frank, exactly like Rosie O' Donnell. She's not manufactured, she's not corny, she's not flashy, she's down to earth and she's not a cheap wad (i.e. Star). She keeps it real and it would be great to see her come back to television after so many years of being away.

Ms. Goldberg would be an excellent choice, also Ms. Griffin - both are bold and outspoken. As for Elisabeth, she lives in a bubble, not the real world. She can not relate to working class folks. I'm not hating on her, but the other day she said "I'm for my white brothers, yeah the white man this, the white that, I love my white brothers. Then they cut to a commerical immediately. She's bold about it, however, she should read up on what the white man has done thru-out history, a.) the Africa was trading w/American way before Columbus, b.) the Cleo Pat & Marc Anthony were of color, Jesus Christ was a black man...the list goes on and on. The white man has taken and destroyed. Time for the real history to come out. The white man has made every good white. Even today, they are still taking what doesn't belong to them. In closing they taken our history away from us, and they wonder why our black brothers & sisters are angry. It started a long time ago. We are a forgiving, God loving/fearing people. As for Ms. Elisabeth, Whoopie would be the right person to educate her. It's time for Liz to learn some black history. We are also guilty, in Africa, killing one other, black on black. Sorry my brothers and sisters, I had to say it.

Having Whoopi on there would be great. We need a black woman who is aware and that will use her voice on our behalf. AND she can tame the idiot that is Elizabeth.

Kathy is cool yah so what's wrong with White pride. as for whoppi she lost my vote with her true colors shown with Spike lee. as for her Views too lib and Hollywood. we need to even it up with a Rep view to shut UP Joy and her love for CNN and NYtimes BS paper!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoopi is not the best choice.From what I heard, this is just a rumor. They need a real journalist who is not afraid to speak her mind. The show does not need another comedian. There are way too may high profile black journalist who would give Elisabeth a run for her money and bring some credibility to the show. Whoopi moderated last week and was awful.
