ROBIN GIVENS: Grace Will Lead Me Home

Comments (88)

I didn't even know Robin Givens had a book coming out this week. Is it me or does she work too hard to be famous for no real reason?

Well here's another chance for her to be in the public limelight but hopefully this time her presence is a bit more substantial. In her memoir, GRACE WILL LEAD ME HOME, she details the cycle of domestic violence that has plagued her family for three generations and her firestorm relationship with Mike Tyson. She recalls how the boxer nearly choked her to death and her thoughts of suicide. Givens also writes about her renewed faith in God and how her spirituality is the force that sustains her. Apparently it was Oprah who convinced Robin to write her story. Thanks, Oprah.

Givens was recently interviewed by Essence's books editor, Patrik Henry Bass. Here are some of the things she had to say:

"My big job now is being a mother," she says. "That's the only thing important, after God. If I never acted again, I'd be fine."

About getting money in her divorce from Tyson, she declares, "I didn't receive one dime."

But oddly enough, she admits that she still loves Tyson and the two are amicable.

She isn't seeing R&B fella Tank, did date Howard Stern and Brad Pitt in the past and is currently seeing someone who she won't name. The 42-year-old says she's ready to settle down again and wants her two sons to have a father.

Enough, already. I can't believe that I'm even writing about the Robin Givens' love life. You can read the entire interview at Essence.com.
