If you guys thought I was crazy for my 'Beauty and the Obese' post, then you haven't been introduced yet to MeMe Roth.
Roth, who is from the National Action Against Obesity, went on Fox News this week and said that Blake Lewis should have been the winner of 'American Idol' because of Jordin's size and appearance.
When asked the question "Is Jordan obese?" Roth responded by saying "That's a discussion between Jordin and her doctor. She clearly has extra weight on her."
Well, no shit she has extra weight on her, Sherlock.
But that doesn't mean she should be prohibited from winning 'American Idol.'
The point I was making in my post on LaKisha is, in her situation, I felt her extra weight was going to work against her from winning,
But if LaKisha won 'American Idol,' then more power to her and for big girls everywhere.
A person shouldn't be allowed to win (or it sounds like in Meme's case, even compete) on the show because of their appearance.
If I find an e-mail address for Ms. Roth, I'll post it for you guys because I know some (or not all of you) will have some choice words for her.

White people will always try to find a reason to hate and make others feel last than human. They’ll hate you for being black, jewish, gay, fat. What’s next?

Iwould rather be fat than stupid. You really need to listen to your self and see how dump you sound. What the heck do weight have to do with your voice. Jordin won and she should have won. Don't hate the player hate the game.

Hey Lorraine, lol that lady was by no means smart. She just appears to be smart. I wonder what's wrong with her glasses. If she looks at Jordin and see diabetes and heart disease...I'm sure some insurance company would love to have her working for their firm. The sad thing is, people always talk about the bad things that large people bring...and the bad images, but what about the STUPID people. Just like America wants to battle obesity, America should battle stupidity. It's VERY obvious that we are losing both fights...lol.

There are some hurtful comments that have been made about Jordin and her family. These comments can be found on Jon Peter Lewis' blog on TV Squad. (Jon Peter Lewis is a former American Idol contestant.) The comments are made by divasnana under Jon Peter Lewis' blog entry regarding when he first met Jordin Sparks.

The War on Obesity is really a War on Fat People. This is really an Ubermensch vs Untermensch ethic that has always lurked beneath the pretensions of egalitarianism in American culture. In the 21st Century, it's not just whites either. More than ever the post-Reagan Negro is less concerned with eliminating the pecking order in valuing humanity than with trying to make sure that there is somebody lower on the pecking order to look down on - just like white folks.

The real issue here is that the media put enough importance on this position to publicize it. Otherwise nobody would know or care what a Me Me Roth is.

There is a chance that Jordin might decide to lose weight one day (hopefully her own decision), but I have a feeling that your mean streak is here to stay.
The young lady's weight has nothing to do with the extent of her talent. There are enough scarecrow looking , supposedly talented people wandering around in search of nourishement for example, the Olsen Twins, drug addicted Nicole Ritchie and Lindsay Lohan, narcissistic Paris Hilton to name a few.
If the young lady, her physician and her family feel that she is healthy (mentally and physically) let us hope that a normal American teen-ager can achieve her life's dream without damaging herself and the people who want to see emaciated scarecrows can find themselves an "All Paris, All the Time" station to watch.
