This will be my last post about the Don Imus situation and I'm going out with a bang.
The one person who has made the most sense during this last week or so has been sportswriter Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star and AOL Sports.
If the name sounds familiar, Whitlock is the journalist who caused all the stir regarding NBA All-Star weekend in Las Vegas a couple months ago.
He seems to be the only person who is openly attacking Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for the way they handled the Imus situation.
Whitlock even went as far as to call the two terrorists.
You know how Americans feel about "terrorists," which explains all the alleged death threats Sharpton is receiving.
Can't say I feel sorry for you, Rev.
Here is the interview from Whitlock's appearance with Tucker Carlson.
Editor's Note: Jason Whitlock will be on the 'Oprah' show this afternoon. Check your local listings.

First of all Jason Whitlock, Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson are all off base. Black people neither own or control the music industry. There is no Black record company capable of being independent of the white company that owns it. BET is owned by Viacom which controls everything that appears it on. So when one says Imus was only following the rappers, Imus was really only repeating the sentiments of his bosses.

Jason is 100% right! Imus told a bad joke and he's likely to do it again. Who is off limits? Would you rather live in a world without laughter or one where everything is criticized. Imagine a world where "24" is banned, Muslims can sue for discrimination, Women's sports are equal to mens, and the only thing on television is "Flanders TV". That's not "Okliedokily" with me. Jesse and Al should have sought an apology and maybe fought for equal time. Blacks need to raise their profile in this society. That's why people think it's okay to appeal to a loyal racist fan base.

Mr. Whitlock, I am greatful to Mr. Sharpton and others like him who can be as articulate as they are. There are millions of people who think like Mr Sharpton but can't express themselves, just think if my only choice were someone like you. There will always be NEGROES like you Mr. Whitlock, tap dancing to negative Hip Hop music. Maybe Mr. Imus should have been a little more specific and mentioned yo mama?

Jason...thank you for being courageous enough to "flow some real talk"...I am truly sick and and tired of these jack leg preachers running to any and every situation that can been construed as a racial problem or black community issue.
Kinda reminds me of a fly that goes from one dog dropping to the next as long as it's hot, fresh and stinks to high hell...only one problem...the one that truly beats the pavement is the one that gets it on the bottom of the shoe and has to clean it up!
I Sho' Nuff have been there and done that.
If we should retire Jesse and Al, pleeeese don't run and get a T.D., Creflo or a Bishop of the month cardmember - we need solutions, not confusion. I suggest Common and Dave Chappelle!!!
Something to make you go hmmmm

I am a 60 year old very white woman and I take offense
to all the media hype over Imus. Has anyone ever
stopped Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Farakahn was
saying bizarre things off the top of thier heads?
Yesterday, I went into work and one of the kids that
helps out is a 15 old black child. He says to me:
'Hey, it's my nappy headed white stick woman' and we
laughed and then I said to him: 'Be careful, I may
call Billy Graham to my defense'. Lighten up, Please!

Whitlock has definitely touched a nerve, and it needed to be touched. Al and Jesse are tired, pointless, and they have zero credibility. Both have the absolute gall to demand capitulation from Imus...and yet neither pastor has shown redemption for the numerous, as Whitlock puts it, "fires", that they have started. Many black folk feel this way about Jackson and Sharpton, but they are afraid to speak out. I have felt this way about the pair for about 20 years now..I am glad to finally see folks like Whitlock, NPR's Juan Williams, and others step forward with their bold criticisms of the Jackson/Sharpton cabal.

Sharpton and Jackson are opportunists. Nothing more than ambulance chasers.

Massah Whitlock;
Be truthful, you didn't want to offend your white bosses and your white wife when you wrote those lies about Jesse and Al did you? Keep kissing up because you are as low as a person can go with the rhetoric you wrote. The KKK has an opening for you!
