Grading the Gavels: No. 9 'Judge Alex'

Comments (7)

Number 9 in 'Grading the Gavels' is 'Judge Alex,' hosted by Judge Alex Ferrer.

No, I swear there is no conspiracy the lowest three court shows have all featured Hispanic judges. It just happened to turn out that way.

With that said, 'Judge Alex' has managed to grow on me over the last few weeks. He is one of the most personable judges out there and doesn't come off as this authority figure that is looking down on the plaintiff and defendant.

Ferrer was born in Havana, Cuba but was forced to flee the country with his family because of the Fidel Castro's regime. Before becoming a judge, Ferrer was a police officer in the state of Florida.

The show, which is filmed in Houston, was recently picked up for another season and will be on at least through the 2007-2008 season.
